Reeth Epic Ride 2005

It's not about the bike, it's about the beer too

This classic event went ahead again this year with YRC members Mick Kershaw, Nigel Baldwin, Russ Hepton and Mike Dixon, along with guests Graham Heath and Steve Gregory. It followed the classic format of drinking as much beer as possible on the Friday night followed by a challenging ride on the Saturday. This went according to plan until Nigel, after drinking 8 pints and half a bottle of red wine, decided to have several triple Jack Daniel's. Worse still he bought the normally sober Mike Dixon several too. Luckily he paid for it big style the following day, never recovering at all. Mike Dixon bravely fought off the initial hangover to give his YRC club mates a lesson in MTB riding.

Mike Dixon hung over, thanks to Nigel Russ held back on the beer on Friday as usual, with guest Graham Heath following his example.
